Mardi 24 octobre 2006

It's definitely the summer there. These days, the daily temperature is about 30 degrees, but with the humidity, it seems to be more. When I come back from de school, my room is like a greenhouse, then I open all the windows to have some fresh air, but it's getting more and more difficult to have it in the evening.

The First courses has been passing very good so far. We have a really nice teacher who gives a very good atmosphere during the lessons. Then we can forget a bit the venue of the exams who is coming very very fast.

Concerning my activities, it was rather quiet these last weeks.

2 weeks ago, I went to the huge supermarket situated in about 40km from Noosa in the south to do some shopping. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of interesting things to see in spite of the number of shops on the spot. And the fashion there is really... old-fashioned ! The clothes are similar to the Europa's clothes in the 80ies, so not for us young swiss students.

Last weekend, we went to the famous Australian Zoo created by Steve Irwin. We took a bus from Noosa during 1h30, and spend all the day there. It's a really "nature" place where the animals benefit a big space to move. I had finally touched koalas !!!! :-)))))))). There is also a multitude of kangourous. So so cute... They were lying on the grass and we could stroke them without problem. There was a baby who grabbed your arm to ask for caresses. The dream !!!!

We saw crocodiles too and some varieties of parrots and other exotics birds. So, it was a really great weekend !

Another swiss-german student had arrived in my family two weeks ago. She's very nice and we did a lot of things together. However, she is only staying until the 1st December and then is going to travel until March. It's really pleasant to have another student at home, then I feel not so alone now and that makes some more "atmosphere" in the house ! ..

See you soon for more of my adventures !
